1989 Ford Escort XR3i Cabriolet Special Edition

The 1.6 litre XR3i Cabriolet is a much loved ’80’s icon and now a fast appreciating and collectable classic car.

Ford introduced 3 colours for this Special Edition, including Amethyst, with a reported short production run of just 1200, a wonderful history file includes the original sales brochure for the limited Special Edition range.

Rare and sought after this example is finished in the, now difficult to find, Amethyst Metallic paint with working black electric hood and cover (new black mohair fitted in 2017), working electric windows and half leather Recaro front seats without any rips or tears. She retains the correct Ford spotlamps, correct Ford audio unit, heated windscreen and working electric mirrors and windows.

Originally supplied by Godfrey Davis of Paddington, and still sporting the original dealer rear window sticker, this car has covered a recorded and credible 54,000 miles with an impressive file including the original Ford Handbooks, Extra Cover Book, Ford Sales Brochure and 2 sets of keys.
