Description
Very rare and highly sought after 1977 3.0 Carrera Targa, one of just 27 made for the UK.
This car was one of only 27 made for, and supplied to, the UK in 1977. Unusually, the car had just 1 owner from 1987 until 2011 and featured in an article in 911 & Porsche World magazine in 2008.
Stunning condition inside and out with an exceptional history file, including original manuals, stamped service book, Porsche Certificate of Conformity and MOT’s from 1983 to current. This car has had over £25,000 spent in the last 4 years, including a full glass out respray, with all works recorded/documented and carried out by reputable specialists.
A wonderful matching numbers car, in the favoured colour combination of silver bodywork and black leather interior, it has the original options of 16 inch Fuchs alloys, passenger wing mirror, Bilstein dampers, front and rear spoilers and black exterior trim. Not forgetting the iconic flat 6 air cooled engine.
The first 3.0 litre powered 911’s were introduced in 1976 and were produced for just 2 years; a variation of the Turbo’s 2994 cc engine but without the turbo charger, the lighter 6-bolt flywheel and the crankshaft from the 2.7 RS were installed resulting in an engine (dubbed the 930/02) developing 200 PS, achieving 0-60 in 6.1 seconds and top speed of 148mph. During 1977 only 646 Targa’s were ever produced, with just 40 RHD’s and only 27 RHD’s into the UK.
