1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow – Stunning example with a comprehensive file from day one

Finished in Caribbean Blue with a Seychelles Blue top hat and beautiful grey interior; the bodywork & brightwork are in superb condition, as is the interior and the walnut veneers.

There is a lot to get excited about with this car; the condition of the interior & the exterior, the mechanics, the way it runs, drives and crucially stops beautifully, but where this car really stands out for me is the history and the file. All too rarely do we see a file that allows us to comprehensively audit the ownership, mileage and service history as this one does, and for the cherry on the cake it was sold in March 2022 by Hanwell’s of London at 91,000 miles with a full service, 2 year warranty and their full 100 point Pre-Delivery Inspection. If you aren’t familiar with Hanwell’s they are the largest independent pre-owned Bentley & Rolls-Royce specialist in the UK and any car that goes through their hands is sure to be a good one.

Fastidiously maintained through its life, often by RREC members, it underwent restoration works in 2019 with photographic support of new arches, sills and paintwork.

The original bookpack and 2 Service Books take us up to 1996 and 81,885 miles with 15 stamps, subsequent regular services and maintenance are well documented with marque specialists. The wonderful file also holds the Rolls-Royce Order Form, Warranty Sheet and the build and pre-delivery sheets even including a spare set of keys.
In March 2024 it has had a mechanical check, including new plugs and tuning.

We know there’s some rough Shadows out there, and plenty of average ones as well, but what we so rarely see is a car in this condition with a comprehensive supporting history file, and this where we think it stands out…to have both is a very rare find indeed, couple that with Shadows finally ‘having a moment’ and we think prices of these rare examples will continue to steadily rise.
