This is a super example of the last of the P-Series Rovers first introduced in 1963, unusually it has been owned by one family from new until 2014 and has clearly been very well looked after and maintained. The odemeter shows that she has covered a credible 74,205 miles equating to just 1,578 per year.

Finished in ‘Almond’ with black interior, the P6 3500 boasts the 3500cc V8 engine with automatic gearbox and power steering; runs and drives very well, performing and coping well in modern traffic she presents as a truly practical and useable classic.

The history file is superb, including the rare, original 1972 Rover sales brochure and invoices for works carried out, including: recent gearbox, carburettor overhaul and service, interior trim, carpets, chromework and exhaust system/stainless steel silencer. The bodywork is is in good shape and does not present with the all too often found corrosion issues. The car has retained the correct toolkit, jack & wheelbrace.

The much loved Rover P6 was designed in-house by Spen King, David Bache and Gordon Bashford, first introduced in 1963 the newcomer featured a pontoon chassis, pushrod independent front suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Winner of the first European Car of the Year Award in four-cylinder guise, the P6 could be had with 3.5-litre V8 power from 1968. Equipped with three-speed automatic transmission as standard, Motor magazine found the Rover 3500 capable of 0-60mph in 9.5 seconds and 117mph. Launched in 1970, MKII variants had boot-mounted batteries, power bulge bonnets and revised rear lights.
